I am trying something a little different for this blog post. I recently treated myself to a new camera and wanted to try it out this weekend. The video is a little shaky, but you learn from your mistakes. I hope you enjoy it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AOhmDpfIqQ
The Court Yard Café is situated in the fishing village of Kalk Bay, the place I refer to as home. Kalk Bay is filled with cafés long the main road and up tiny alley ways. The Court Yard Café forms part of an art shop that mainly focuses on African themed art. A tourists dream. … Continue reading Lunch Dates: What I Wore & The Court Yard Cafe
If you are from Cape Town, you probably know about the small town of Franschhoek. Franschhoek is approximately 80kms from Cape Town and is situated in between the mountains and surrounds by dozens of wine farms. There are two main routes to take to Franschhoek, via the N1 through Paarl or the R310 through Stellenbosch. … Continue reading What to do in Franschhoek
If it is not evident by now that I love food then I clearly haven't been writing enough about food. Last weekend my boyfriend and I finally decided to visit the Oranjezicht City Farm Market. It is situated in Granger Bay, just behind the Waterfront. The market happens every Saturday morning. You can park in the waterfront and take a 2-5 minute walk there. It is busy and vibey, just the way you think a market should be.
I am a Southern Suburbs girl. Most of you may not know what that it is. The Southern Suburbs is the South End of Cape Town. Here in the Southern Suburbs it is a culture to go out to cafés with your friends. Almost everyone does it. You know about it because everyone Instagrams about it. I feel as if I have attended my fair share of cafés and have winded down the 5 top cafés I enjoy to go to. I thought I should share it with you.
I always have the travel bug. Last weekend, my boyfriend, his family and I made our way up to Nuy Valley. Nuy Valley is situated about 17kms outside Worcester. In the valley there are various wine farms and the famous Willow Creek, known for its olive oil. We went to Nuy Valley because we had a wedding to attend (that is for another post). The valley itself is beautiful, filled with vineyards, succulents and plants.
This post follows on from my What to Pack for a Weekend Away post last week, which showed almost every single item that I am wearing down below. It was so nice to travel light and wear every single item in my bag. Here is how I paired the clothing items together to create my weekend getaway outfits.
An escape to Hermanus, for the weekend, was just what I needed. A break from my computer and all the work that I need to do. My boyfriend and I decided to do a quick trip before I headed back to university. Ain't he a sweetheart? He even got me a gift.
There are no words to describe how much I love packing. I find it therapeutic. It gets me excited on what is to come. Traveling is one of my biggest passions. I get envious when I see travel bloggers photos of their most recent trips. I just want to get on a plane and explore. Money is a bit of an issue though... And finishing my degree. I like to think of myself as a professional packer (sometimes).
